Highlights
This new website was designed with moving parts in mind. The logo already contains a scrolling element to it and so we needed the pages to provide interaction and animations to be in keeping with that. There are also a number of icons, as part of the brand which are included throughout the site.
Challenges
There were a couple of challenges with this site. The main one being to convert the design provided into a mobile friendly design. As there are multiple layers across different sections of the site the layers needed to overlay correctly for desktop and mobile without becoming a distraction to the user. We used transparency on background elements so they could sit behind items when on mobile but be fully visible when on desktop.
The second challenge was getting the right balance of animations. If everything moves on the page it can become nauseous and off putting so we looked to make just a few elements move as you scroll. Enough to keep a visitor engaged but not too much that they can't digest the content.

Result
Initially we just created a landing home page whilst the page content was put together. The site then grew! What's the point of having a website if you only have a few pages, so a full site development was undertaken. The client and designer worked on the content and images and once ready sent to us for development.
We're delighted with the outcome of this project. It was a complex design, created by Darrell from The Narrative(opens in new tab), but who doesn't like a challenge? Multi layer designs that have overlapping parts, make a site look more than just a template. They allow a brand to come to life and remain consist across all marketing outlets.
Thought has gone in to all parts of the site, including the 404 not found page that has been designed to ensure a visitor can find their way back without feeling lost!
Ongoing support is provided through our Wordpress hosting and maintenance package ensuring the site is secure, backed up and loading at speed for visitors to the site.
